The Role

The ideal candidates will be based in our  Liffey Valley dealership, experienced in all aspects of vehicle servicing and diagnostics and be capable of producing high quality work in a busy environment.  

Responsibilities include:

• Performing work as outlined on the job card with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and Volkswagen standards.
• Communicating with parts department to obtain needed parts, inform workshop manager if vehicle is awaiting parts and pursue special order of parts if necessary.
• Diagnosing cause of any malfunction and perform repair after confirming authorization by customer.
• Saving and tagging any and all parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by customer.
• Examining the vehicle and performing vehicle health checks to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
• Notifying service advisors immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs can not be completed within the time promised.
• Road-testing vehicles to spot check work performed.
• Keeping abreast of Volkswagen technical bulletins and attend factory sponsored training classes.
• Maintaining a clean and neat workspace and adhering to all company policies, procedures and safety standards

Requirements

• Qualified technician, ideally working with a Volkswagen Group brand, however not completely necessary.
• Ability to clearly complete job card write ups with a thorough understanding of the requirements of factory standards for warranty write-ups.
• Good communication skills and the ability to identify and explain additional work required to service advisors or customers as required.
• Previous experience on engine/transmission repairs/rebuild/replacement would be an advantage.
• Full valid Drivers Licence is required for this role.

We are seeking a Vehicle Handover Specialist to join our Sales Team at our Volkswagen dealership in Liffey Valley. Reporting to the Head of Sales, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role at a time when Volkswagen is introducing many new and innovative models to the Irish market.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for Volkswagen vehicles, a strong attention to detail, and the enthusiasm to learn from a highly experienced, process-driven sales team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough vehicle checks prior to customer handover, ensuring:
• The vehicle is fueled/charged
• All accessories are correctly fitted
• All manuals, documentation, and handover forms are reviewed with the customer
• Deliver an exceptional handover experience, including full demonstration of vehicle features and technology.
• Assist customers in pairing mobile devices and customising vehicle settings (e.g. radio stations, preferences).
• Create personalised vehicle videos to enhance transparency and customer trust.
• Conduct post-handover follow-up calls to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
• Arrange follow-up appointments to assist customers with any additional technical queries.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the full Volkswagen range, features, and accessories.
• Arrange and accompany customers on test drives.
• Ensure the showroom and outdoor vehicle displays are presented to the highest standard.
• Communicate professionally with customers via phone, email, and in person.
• Activate VW We Connect on all vehicles delivered.
• Activate Automatic Service Scheduling using Frank Keane as the Preferred Service Partner.
• Encourage all customers to leave their feedback on their experience via manufacturer survey system.

As an apprentice technician, you will be involved in a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to become a proficient automotive technician. Under the guidance of experienced mechanics, you will learn to diagnose, repair, and maintain various types of vehicles. This position offers hands-on experience in a dynamic automotive repair environment as well manufacturer face to face training in Volkswagen Ireland Training Academy.  

Key Responsibilities:

1. Learning and Development:

• Participate actively in training sessions and on-the-job learning opportunities.
• Acquire knowledge of automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical components.
• Understand the proper usage of diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Familiarize yourself with industry-standard repair procedures and techniques.

2. Assistance in Repair and Maintenance:

• Assist senior mechanics in diagnosing mechanical issues and performing repairs.
• Learn to perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Observe and learn to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems efficiently.
• Support the team in maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

3. Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working in the shop.

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to automotive repair activities.
  

4. Customer Interaction:

• Learn to communicate effectively with customers to understand their vehicle concerns.
• Assist in providing accurate estimates for repair costs and timeframes.

5. Requirements
