Qualified Technicians - Sandyford

The Role

The ideal candidates will be based in our Sandyford dealership, experienced in all aspects of vehicle servicing and diagnostics and be capable of producing high quality work in a busy environment.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing work as outlined on the job card with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and Volkswagen standards.
  • Communicating with parts department to obtain needed parts, inform workshop manager if vehicle is awaiting parts and pursue special order of parts if necessary.
  • Diagnosing cause of any malfunction and perform repair after confirming authorization by customer.
  • Saving and tagging any and all parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by customer.
  • Examining the vehicle and performing vehicle health checks to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
  • Notifying service advisors immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs can not be completed within the time promised.
  • Road-testing vehicles to spot check work performed.
  • Keeping abreast of Volkswagen technical bulletins and attend factory sponsored training classes.
  • Maintaining a clean and neat workspace and adhering to all company policies, procedures and safety standards


Requirements

  • Qualified technician, ideally working with a Volkswagen Group brand, however not completely necessary.
  • Ability to clearly complete job card write ups with a thorough understanding of the requirements of factory standards for warranty write-ups.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to identify and explain additional work required to service advisors or customers as required.
  • Previous experience on engine/transmission repairs/rebuild/replacement would be an advantage.
  • Full valid Drivers Licence is required for this role.

Automotive Workshop Controller - Sandyford

The Quality Controller in the automotive workshop is responsible for ensuring that all vehicle repairs,maintenance, and modifications meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This role involves inspecting vehicles at various stages of the repair process, verifying compliance with manufacturer specifications, and ensuring customer satisfaction through rigorous quality checks.


Working Conditions

  • Fast paced workshop environment with exposure to vehicles, tools, and machinery.
  • May involve standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicles before, during, and after repair or maintenance to ensure adherence to quality
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and quality inspection equipment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and repair orders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with OEM standards and automotive quality control processes.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair procedures.
  • Proven experience in an automotive workshop or dealership environment.Technical certification or diploma in Automotive Engineering or a related field.
  • Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
